Joy Distenfeld Information

The Joy Distenfeld Fund (the “Fund”), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was established on February 18, 1984 to honor and commemorate the efforts of Joy Distenfeld on behalf of the gifted and talented students of the Valhalla Public School District (the “District”).

Joy Distenfeld was the District’s school psychologist for 15 years. Joy took particular interest in guiding and enhancing the academic development of the gifted and talented students of the District. It was her wish, just prior to her death in early 1984, to establish a fund from which these students would receive a stipend to attend a pre-approved summer program to supplement their regular curriculum by exploring and fully developing their abilities and talents.

Over the last 26 years, approximately 300 students ranging from 8-17 years (in Grades 3 through 11) have benefited from Joy Distenfeld Fund stipends.

Yearbook Order Information

Yearbook orders must be subbmitted by January 20th. Order online at www.yearbookordercenter.com or call 866-287-3096. You will need to give our school code number #5480. We no longer accept orders at school. They must go through the yearbook publisher, Herff Jones. Contact Cristina Conciatori at school with any questions.

Locker # Information

Please note that all locker numbers will be located on the top right hand corner of all student schedules. All high school lockers are located on the second floor. 9th grade lockers are to the right of the testing center; 10th grader lockers are located near the science rooms; 11th grade lockers are to the left of the testing center and 12th grader lockers are near the math rooms.
