On January 8, 2009, students from Mrs. Griffin's and Mrs. White's English classes participated in Poetry Out Loud, a national poetry recitation competition sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and Poetry Foundation. Students were evaluated on physical presence, voice and articulation, appropriateness of dramatization, level of difficulty, evidence of understanding, accuracy, and overall performance. Congratulations to Jessica Grant, Danielle Colabatistto, and Willa Safferstein who won the contest. Jessica Grant advanced to the regional competition in New York City.
